Exercise Index – Cable Rope Facepulls

It is extremely popular to use a short rope to do this motion, but I hate the short rope.

It Inhibits fully contracting the upper back muscles, It forces internal rotation, and it often leads to people doing the movement with terrible posture and making their kyphosis worse while emphasizing the upper traps way too much

Don’t use that stupid rope.

Use two ropes together, or even better, get the long pulley strap, and now you have improved the biomechanics immensely.

The face pull is NOT an exercise that you need to do forever, once you can use about half your body weight on the cable stack for a set of 10, you should be moving on to more challenging exercises, there is no need to keep doing the movement, unless you simply like doing it.
