Flexibility is the ability of a muscle to lengthen, and the ability of a joint to be taken through its full range of motion (or beyond).
Mobility is your overall ability to move.
Flexibility and mobility are confusing subjects, but the scientific reality of improving them is incredibly basic.
To improve muscle length and joint function, you must LENGTHEN the muscles and train that joint function.
To become more “mobile”, you must practice the movements you want to be better at doing.
Conventional strength training is the practice of lengthening and contracting muscle tissue and training the biomechanical functionality of individual joints
It’s the most scientifically proven strategy for increasing flexibility and improving general physical ability
I don’t stretch. I do my exercises with a complete range of motion. My muscles are lengthened as a result
To get better at moving, I practice specific movements. And that’s it.
If you’re lifting weights is making you LESS flexible and less mobile, you need to reevaluate your training.
